The vote is in and the membership has spoken. The College Club of Seattle will see its
100th birthday! By a margin
of 64% to 36%, you voted against further merger negotiations with the Rainier
Club. I have communicated this to the
head of their task force and thanked them for their time, interest and effort
in partnering with us. The Board of Trustees will now focus its efforts and
energy on transitioning to an interim location and pursuing efforts to find a
permanent Club facility. We will
continue discussions with Lexas Companies regarding their condominium
development in the South Lake Union area.
We will also continue to explore our property options for a 1031
investment. The College Club of Seattle has an exciting future
ahead of it. I would like to
personally thank each and every member of the Board of Trustees for the time,
effort and dedication put into securing our future. I also want to thank all of you who
attended the special meeting, and all of you who voted (regardless of how you
cast your ballot). The key to our
survival is the continued interest and participation of our members. On a different note, I would like to give my warmest
congratulations to Bill and Jamie Hsu on the birth of their son. Tildon is a happy, strapping 7 pounds, 11
ounces. We wish the family all the
best. As always, I look forward to seeing and speaking with
all of you at the Club. Happy Thanksgiving. Randy
